Dirty South

I was craving some authentic BBQ ribs, so Johnny and I went to Kingfish Cafe in Capitol Hill. Southern cuisine, with a homey-feel and very nice waitresses/waiters.

We started with the fried green tomatoes. It was light and fried, not too heavy because you can still taste the tomatoes. The balls were potato beignets, maybe too potato-y for me. Chipotle sauce and garlic on top

Another side dish we ordered was the sweet potato fries, yum.

RIBS! Beef BBQ ribs. Served with potato salad, greens, and corn bread. Greens were meh… but the rest was delicious.

Strawberry shortcake… this was definitely a highlight. We stuffed ourselves to the extreme. 3 layers of cake and strawberry with whip cream. We just shared between us, but it could probably feed about 8 people :)

This is my 3rd time coming.. love it if you want some Southern food!
